Strategy Session Agenda
Introduction/Overview
Too often we have tactical discussions and make tactical decisions that impact our sales, marketing
and customer success operations work. During a recent string of CMO breakfasts, we heard a
consistent need for customer-facing executives to take time together to make strategic decisions
and direction for 2020 and beyond.
This document is meant to serve as a draft agenda for such a meeting. To make it most useful, we
recommend the following:
Schedule at least half a day: Give yourself the time and "oxygen" needed to work through these
questions with your peers.
Schedule it offsite: Getting away f rom the office makes you less likely to get pulled back into the
daily fire drills that will distract f rom the purpose and outcome you desire.
Bring someone to document everything: Don't count on individuals taking notes or someone taking
pictures of whiteboards. Let participants fully engage, then review notes later to fill in the blanks.
Summarize and publish your takeaways: Either in a summary document or in a team meeting, let
your teams know what you discussed and/or decided (even if further thinking/vetting is required).
